Jump Desktop#

Jump Desktop is the client app for controlling your hosts (the computers you connect to). It runs on Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, or Android Beta; you can also connect from a web browser, for example to work on your office computer from home.

• Install Jump Desktop: install on Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, or Android Beta, sign in, and remove your access to hosts you no longer use.
• Connect from a web browser: connect without installing an app.
• Ask to share a screen: connect with approval from the person at the host, and collaborate.

Workflows#

Workflows are recipes: the settings and steps for a specific kind of work.

• Coding and productivity: sharp text, multiple displays, familiar shortcuts, and multiple computers on iPad.
• Let AI agents control computers: connect agents through Jump CLI Beta, monitor them in Mission Control, and take control.
• Check in on AI agents and long-running work: connect periodically and keep the host's virtual displays between visits.
• Photo editing and design: accurate color, calibrated displays, pen pressure, and drawing tablets.
• Video editing and VFX: multiple displays, 10-bit color, and editing hardware.
  • Avid Media Composer with Blackmagic SDI: maintain SDI output while a remote editor hears Avid audio.
• CAD and 3D design: sharp lines and a locked cursor for orbiting and panning.
• Gaming: low latency, game controllers, and a locked cursor, on every device.
• Remote support: support someone with their approval, or through unattended access.

Work in a session#

• Remote audio: hear the host's audio and send your microphone input.
• Redirect USB devices: share a local USB device with the host.
• Privacy mode: blank the host's screens and block local input.
• Observe mode: view a session without sending input.
• Copy and paste between computers: sync text with the host, or type your clipboard contents where pasting does not work.
• Connect to several computers at once: sessions in windows and tabs on Windows and Mac, and in windows on iPad.

Keyboard, mouse, and touch#

• Use the keyboard: send special keys and shortcuts.
• Send system shortcuts to the host: send Alt+Tab, the Windows key, Cmd+Tab, and Spotlight from Windows and Mac.
• Keyboard and mouse profiles: key conversions, Jump Desktop shortcuts, and per-computer profiles on Windows and Mac.
• Controls and gestures: touch gestures on iPhone, iPad, Android, and mobile browsers.
• Lock the mouse cursor: keep the cursor inside the session for games and 3D apps.
• Pen and stylus input: pen pressure and tilt from Windows and Mac, and Apple Pencil on iPad.
• Input Trail: see your strokes immediately while the host's screen updates, on Windows and Mac.
• Use game controllers: share a physical controller, or use the on-screen controller on iPhone, iPad, and Android.

Displays#

• Switch and arrange remote displays: switch between the host's displays, show them in one window or separate windows, and use an external display with iPhone or iPad.
• Virtual displays: match your screens, set exact resolutions and refresh rates, and keep displays after you disconnect.
• Use virtual displays on Windows and Mac: presets, matched and fixed virtual displays, and saved presets.
• Use virtual displays on iPhone, iPad, and Android: a display sized to your device.
• Set virtual displays for a team: allow, fix, or keep virtual displays with Connect Settings.

Performance#

• Get the best performance: network, virtual displays, pixel load, and Fluid session settings.
• Codecs and hardware encoding: choose a codec and color level.
• Hardware encoding requirements: the GPUs, drivers, and packages a host requires for hardware encoding.
• Hardware decoding requirements: the requirements your device must meet to display a hardware-encoded session.
