Jump Desktop¶

Jump Desktop is the app you use to connect to and control your remote computers. Use it on Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, or Android, or connect from a web browser, for example to work on your office computer from home.

• Install Jump Desktop: install on Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, or Android and sign in.
• Connect from a web browser: connect without installing an app.

Work in a session¶

• Remote audio: hear the remote computer and send your microphone.
• Redirect USB devices: share a local USB device with the remote computer.
• Privacy mode: blank the remote screens and block local input.
• Observe mode: watch without sending input.

Keyboard, mouse, and touch¶

• Use the keyboard: send special keys and shortcuts.
• Send system shortcuts to the remote computer: send Alt+Tab, the Windows key, Cmd+Tab, and Spotlight to the remote computer from Windows and Mac.
• Keyboard and mouse profiles: key conversions, Jump Desktop shortcuts, and a profile for each computer on Windows and Mac.
• Lock the mouse cursor: keep the cursor inside the session for games and 3D apps.
• Use game controllers: share a physical controller, or use the on-screen controller on iPhone, iPad, and Android.
• Controls and gestures: touch gestures on iPhone, iPad, Android, and mobile browsers.

Displays¶

• Switch and arrange remote displays: switch between remote displays and show them in one or separate windows.
• Virtual displays: match your local screens exactly, set exact resolutions and high refresh rates, and keep displays after you disconnect.
• Use virtual displays on Windows and Mac: presets, matched and fixed virtual displays, saved presets.
• Use virtual displays on iPhone, iPad, and Android: a display sized to your device.
• Set virtual displays for a team: allow, fix, or keep virtual displays with Connect Settings.

Performance¶

• Get the best performance: network, virtual displays, pixel load, and Fluid session settings.
• Codecs and hardware encoding: choose a codec and color level, and check hardware encoding requirements.
• Connection statistics: live session statistics and what they mean.

Workflows¶

Workflows are recommended setups for specific kinds of work:

• Gaming: low latency, high frame rates, and a locked mouse cursor.
• CAD and 3D design: sharp lines and a locked cursor for orbiting and panning.
• Video editing and color work: 10-bit color, project frame rates, and calibrated color.
• Avid Media Composer with Blackmagic SDI: keep SDI output running while a remote editor hears Avid audio.
• Multi-display Mac workstations: a Mac Studio or similar driving several displays.
• Check in on AI agents and long-running work: drop in, check progress, and leave the desktop as it was.

Launch Jump Desktop from other apps¶

• Launch links and connection files: start connections from other apps with jump:// links, .jump files, and .jdz archives.
