Jump Desktop Connect settings#
This reference describes each setting in the Jump Desktop Connect Settings window on the host (the computer you connect to), including its default value and effect. For a team, the Team setting column names the matching setting in a Connect Configuration; the Connect Configuration value overrides the local value.
Applies to#
- Hosts running Jump Desktop Connect 10.15.23 or later on Windows or macOS. Settings and notes marked with a Beta version label need Connect 10.16 Beta or later; the Beta tag next to Linux marks Connect for Linux, which is a beta product.
- Linux Beta hosts, for the settings whose Platforms column lists Linux.
- Any user signed in at the host, unless a team manages the settings. See When a team manages settings.
To open the Settings window, click the settings (gear) icon in the Connect window, and then choose a page from the list on the left. In Connect 10.16 Beta, click Settings at the bottom of the sidebar in the Connect window instead.

Disconnect Session Shortcut Beta#
A keyboard shortcut that a person at the host presses on the host's own keyboard to disconnect the current session. Other sessions on the host stay connected, and the shortcut works while privacy mode is on. Remote users cannot trigger it, and while no one is connected, the key combination reaches applications as usual. It is on the Remote Access page of Connect's settings in Connect 10.16.78 Beta or later, and on the Advanced page in earlier versions.

On a Mac, the shortcut works after Connect has the Accessibility permission; see Grant macOS permissions to Connect. On Linux, the group is hidden in Wayland sessions. When a Connect Configuration turns the shortcut off, the group displays Your team has turned this shortcut off. When it sets the shortcut and does not allow changes, the group displays Your team sets which shortcut is used.
RDP and VNC#

Diagnostics#
Displays the host's Host Name:, IP Address:, User Name:, Version:, and Machine ID:.

Check For Updates... checks for updates on demand; on Linux, it shows the command that updates Connect with the host's package manager. What's New... opens the Jump Desktop changelog.
Configuration#

Uninstall#
macOS only. Uninstall Jump Desktop Connect removes Connect after you confirm and enter an administrator password. See Uninstall Connect.
When a team manages settings#
When a Connect Configuration assigned to the host does not turn on Local Configuration Changes, the window displays Settings are managed by your team's administrator, and most of the settings above cannot be changed. To determine which configuration applies, see Which configuration applies.
Settings only in Connect Configurations#
The Connect window has no control for the following settings. Team administrators on the Jump Desktop for Teams Enterprise plan configure them in a Connect Configuration. For a description of every Connect Configuration setting, see the Connect Configuration settings reference.
