Add and manage users

Invite people to your team from the Teams dashboard so they can connect to the team's computers with their own Jump Desktop account. Send email invites to specific people, or share one public link when many people need to join at once. Teams that use single sign-on can also add users without invites: see Set up single sign-on, Provision users with SCIM, and Verify your domain.

Applies to

  • Team administrators with the Admin role.

Invite users

  1. In the Teams dashboard, open your team and click Add Users, then Invite Someone.
  2. Choose the invite type:

    Tab Use it to Enter
Email Invite specific people. Each invite is emailed and can be used once. One or more email addresses.
Public Share one link that many people can use to join. An Invite name to identify the link.
  3. Optional: under Remote Access Permissions, click Add Permissions and select the Access Groups and computers people get when they join. Otherwise, new users can't connect to any computers until you give them access.

  4. Click Create.

To share an invite link, click the invite, then Copy Invite Link. You can't send an email invite to someone already on the team.

What invitees see

  1. The invitee opens the invite link and signs in to Jump Desktop, or creates an account.
  2. In the Join A Team dialog, the invitee checks that they recognize the team name and clicks Accept Invite.

An invite can't be accepted when:

  • It's an email invite and the invitee is signed in with a different email address. They must sign in with the invited address.
  • The team requires 2-factor authentication or single sign-on and the invitee hasn't turned it on. They turn it on in their account's Security dashboard, then reopen the invite link.
  • The team has reached its seat limit and billing needs attention.

New members join with the User role. See Team roles and remote access.

Manage invites

Click Add Users to see pending invites under Public Invite Links and Sent Invites.

  • Click an invite to see its link and the Access Groups and computers it grants.
  • Click Delete next to an invite to revoke it. The link stops working.

Invites don't expire. Accepted email invites leave the list; public invites stay until deleted. There's no resend option: to remind someone, copy the invite link and send it to them.

View a user

Click Users, then click a user. The user page shows:

  • Role, Remote Access, and, where applicable, 2-Factor Authentication, Single Sign On, and Managed by SCIM status.
  • Remote Access: the Access Groups and computers the user can connect to. Use the menu on this card to Add remote access or Remove remote access.
  • Where name is signed in (Teams Enterprise): the Jump Desktop apps the user is signed in to. Log the user out of any app you don't recognize.

To reset a user's 2-factor authentication (Teams Enterprise), click the delete icon next to Enabled under 2-Factor Authentication, then click Remove. The user gets an email with a link to confirm the reset.

To change a user's role or turn remote access on or off, see Change a role or remote access.

Remove users

  1. Click Users, then click the user. To remove several users, select them in the list instead.
  2. Open the menu and click Remove from team.
  3. Click Remove.

Removed users lose access to all of the team's computers, their active sessions are disconnected, and they're taken out of the team's Access Groups. Their Jump Desktop account and other teams aren't affected. To remove access temporarily, turn off remote access instead.

You can't remove the team's last Admin or its last user with remote access turned on.
